What is outlined, what is obscured...

Writer: Sandy PougetSandy Pouget

The invisible is not absence. It can be an imprint, a vibration, a breath passing through matter. This month I invite you to explore the fine line between what is perceived and what escapes our gaze.

  • A veiled presence

The soft light glides over the surface, caresses a curve, highlights a relief. What is shown attracts the eye, but it is what is inferred that intrigues. In the shadows, the material fades, melts away... or remains silent.

  • Pending matter

In space, these sculptures seem to defy gravity, as if frozen in motion. Their delicacy and gentle undulations evoke the silent flight of a sea creature or the trembling of a fabric caught in the wind. The light caresses them, revealing their texture with metallic reflections... A moment frozen between the earth and the sky.

  • The imprint of passage - ‘Protoplasm’ :

Protoplasm' bears the enigmatic imprint of an unknown species frozen in matter. Somewhere between abstraction and organic nature, its forms sketch an unsettling presence whose identity is elusive. Each vein seems to whisper the story of a furtive passage, a vanished existence, or perhaps a creature evolving beyond our perception. Fascinating and elusive, this trail takes us to the edge of a world where unknown forms appear and disappear...

  • Furtive appearances

As light glides across the surface of the sculptures, shadows appear and disappear, subtly altering the perception of volume. A relief intensifies, a line fades, a blurred silhouette emerges before dissolving back into the material. The works vibrate under the gaze, as if traversed by an elusive presence. What seemed frozen becomes shifting, uncertain... leaving a sense of mystery.
